Career

Gracy Chen is a prominent blockchain executive, entrepreneur, and investor serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Bitget, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges and Web3 platforms. She officially became CEO in May 2024, making her one of the few women leading a top-tier global crypto exchange. Under her leadership, Bitget has continued expanding its international footprint, derivatives business, and Web3 ecosystem.

Chen’s professional background combines media, entrepreneurship, finance, and blockchain innovation. She first gained recognition as a television host and producer at Phoenix TV, where she interviewed influential technology and investment figures such as Tim Draper and Ray Kurzweil. Through these interactions, she became deeply interested in Bitcoin and blockchain technology around 2014, later becoming an early investor in cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP.

Before joining Bitget, Chen held executive roles at fintech and emerging technology companies, including work with the fintech unicorn Accumulus and VR startup XRSPACE. She also co-founded entrepreneurial ventures focused on digital payments and immersive technologies, building expertise in scaling global consumer platforms and managing high-growth technology businesses.

Chen joined Bitget in 2022 as its first Managing Director, where she led global growth strategy, international partnerships, and brand expansion. During this period, Bitget significantly increased its global user base and strengthened its market position through strategic campaigns, affiliate expansion, and high-profile partnerships; including collaborations with football icon Lionel Messi. Her leadership helped establish Bitget as a major force in crypto derivatives and spot trading markets.

Beyond exchange operations, Chen is widely recognized for advocating greater diversity and accessibility in the blockchain industry. She spearheaded initiatives such as #Blockchain4Youth and #Blockchain4Her, programs designed to promote blockchain education, youth engagement, and opportunities for women in Web3 and crypto entrepreneurship. She is also a contributor to major industry publications including Forbes and Cointelegraph, where she writes about blockchain adoption, regulation, and digital finance innovation.

Chen holds a bachelor’s degree from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her career reflects a blend of entrepreneurship, technology leadership, and advocacy for a more inclusive and globally accessible crypto ecosystem.
