Antoni Trenchev

Antoni Trenchev (born March 15, 1987, in Munich, Germany) is a Bulgarian entrepreneur, blockchain advocate, and one of the co-founders of Nexo, a major global digital assets platform offering crypto-backed lending, trading, and financial services. He blends expertise in law, finance, and technology to help shape products and regulatory approaches in the digital asset space.

Trenchev studied Finance Law at King’s College London and earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. After university, he worked as a proprietary trader and fund manager in traditional financial markets before moving into fintech and blockchain.

Before co-founding Nexo in 2018, Trenchev served as a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria (2014–2017), where he advocated for progressive legislation; including initiatives to implement blockchain technology in e-government services such as e-voting.

At Nexo, he has played a central role in launching pioneering products like instant crypto credit lines, Earn on Crypto & Fiat, and advanced trading services, helping the platform grow into a major player serving millions of users worldwide. Trenchev also oversees Nexo’s legal, regulatory compliance, AML, and communications functions, emphasizing transparent operations and engagement with regulators globally.
