Career

Yi He (born circa 1986 in Sichuan, China) is a pioneering business executive and co‑founder of Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume and user base. She has played a central role in building and shaping the platform and broader blockchain ecosystem since its launch in 2017.

Before entering the crypto industry, Yi worked in media and tech roles, including as a television host and as Vice President at Yixia Technology, where she led marketing and branding strategies for major mobile apps. Early in the crypto space, she also co‑founded the Chinese digital asset exchange OKCoin, where she helped recruit key talent and build operational foundations.

In 2017, Yi teamed up with Changpeng Zhao (“CZ”) to launch Binance, quickly turning it from a crypto‑to‑crypto exchange into a global blockchain ecosystem. At Binance, she led marketing, user growth, brand strategy, and ecosystem development, contributing to the platform’s rapid ascent to market leadership.

In August 2022, she took charge of Binance Labs; Binance’s venture capital and incubation arm; helping steer investments into early‑stage blockchain and Web3 projects and later overseeing its evolution into YZI Labs, a broader investment platform.

In December 2025, Yi He was named Co‑CEO of Binance, sharing leadership with Richard Teng as the company adapts to a more regulated, global crypto landscape and pursues continued innovation and expansion.

Widely recognized as one of the most influential women in the digital asset industry, Yi’s strategic vision has been instrumental in driving Binance’s growth, user engagement, and venture ecosystem, making her a key figure in the mainstreaming of cryptocurrency worldwide.
